The Healthcare Performance Management Institute (HPM Institute) is a research and education organization dedicated to promoting the use of business technology and management principles that deliver better and more cost-effective healthcare benefits for employers, employees and government entities.
The Institute’s mission is to introduce and develop a new corporate discipline called Healthcare Performance Management (HPM) — a technology-enabled business strategy that tackles the challenge of controlling healthcare cost and quality in much the same way that enterprises have optimized customer relations, supply chain management and enterprise resource management. Supported by its four key pillars--Measure, Manage, Engage and Automate--HPM provides organizations with visibility and control over their healthcare benefits spending trends and risk management postures, while protecting individual employee privacy.
Healthcare IT News published the article, “Mining Data for Health Management,” featuring commentary from Institute Executive Director George Pantos and WellNet Healthcare Group President Keith Lemer discussing the importance of having access to health plan data as a means to cut costs and promote member engagement.
The Institute's Success Story, "Viking Range Corporation Promotes Employee Wellness with Care Management Technology and Saves 16% on Health Costs," was featured in Workforce Management and on InsuranceNewsNet.com
HPM Institute Executive Director George Pantos hosted the second in a three-part series of Webcasts focused on cloud-based technology in the healthcare arena. The Webcast titled, "Public-Sector Strategies for Reducing Healthcare Costs While Improving Outcomes" was held on September 27.
